Teresa Blocker

January 17, 1955 — October 3, 2019

On Thursday, October 3rd 2019 Teresa Maria Blocker earned her heavily wings. Teresa was preceded in death by her mother Maria, (Babcia meaning grandmother in Polish) as she was so lovingly referred to and her brother Richard. Teresa leaves behind her husband of almost twenty three years Michael C. Blocker, daughters Angelica (Ron) Headley, Elizabeth (Jared) Butterworth, and grandchildren River, Anna, Rayleigh, Aslan, and Reese. Sister Danuta Parsons, and a host of nieces and nephews. Teresa was born in Poland in 1955, she became a U.S. citizen in 1982. Teresa went on to earn her nursing degree at Wallace State where she graduated in 1994. She went on to work as a nurse for Trinity/Grandview for the last twenty five years, where she continued to work up until a month prior to her death. She loved working and getting to be around the coworkers that became like family to her over the years. Everything she did in her life she would do with 100% heart and soul. Most of her free time was spent at church, volunteering in the nursery or attending her life group or spending time with her family and her beloved pets. She loved going to the mountains and having picnics by the river. Finding new back roads were always her favorite. They always led to the most beautiful destinations. No matter what was going on in her personal life she was always more than willing to lend a helping hand. Teresa had a warrior’s heart and was such a fighter, the last six years have been designated to fighting every day. It didn’t matter what the odds were, she always had a way of beating them. Anytime she would get bad news, she would make a game plan and put it into action immediately. She never lost her faith in anything that she did. Through her journey with cancer her faith and trust in God grew tremendously stronger and stronger. She knew that even though it didn’t always make sense that there was reasoning in it through Gods plan for her life. Her favorite two phrases were “Thank you Jesus, and Jesus help me” and just by saying those words she got through the most difficult of times. Teresa was such a diligent servant to the Lord. She never complained or questioned his plan; she simply prayed, worshipped, and thanked God for all the good that was happening in the midst of the bad. Teresa knew that one day she would be healed. She declared it proudly daily. “This is not goodbye, it’s see you later.” We will be accepting flowers at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens.
