Sebastian Wentzell

Sebastian Merle Wentzell, 87, resident of Birmingham, AL, passed away on May 3, 2022. Merle was born on May 16, 1934, in New Germany, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Merle is survived by his wife, Hazel, his three children: son, David Wentzell (Kathy), of Milton, Ontario, Canada; daughters, Chris Diuguid (Mike), of Trussville, AL and Debbie Hall (Randy), of Birmingham, AL. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Torry Wentzell (Denise) of Ontario, Canada, Ian Diuguid of Denver, CO, Carrie Wentzell of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, Cameron Hall of Birmingham, AL, and Megan Hall of Birmingham, AL. In addition, he is survived by his brother, Philip Wentzell (Cherie), of Trussville, AL and his sister, Winnie Starnes, of Leeds, AL and a host of nieces and nephews.

Merle retired from the Canadian Air Force after 26 years of service. He attended Faith Lutheran Church in Clay, AL where he was an active member for 44 years.
