Searcy Mullenix

Searcy E. “Sonny” Mullenix, Jr., age 76, of Birmingham passed away February 11, 2021. He was a native of Tuscaloosa, a ’63 graduate of TCHS, and an Army Veteran. He was a devout Christian with a servant’s heart and a member of Lakeside Baptist Church. ‘Pop’ was well-known for working in the air-conditioning business all his life throughout Alabama. “Sonny” was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. Pawpaw had a passion for fishing, telling jokes, and an avid Alabama Fan. He was preceded in death by his parents. Searcy is survived by his loving wife of twelve years, Linda Mullenix; his three daughters, Kay Roberts (Steve), Lisa Koontz (David) and Sunni Brimsy (Derrick); his sister, Felicia Sanders (Bobbie); twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild. The visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, February 15th starting at 11:00 a.m. with service following at 12:30 p.m. at Lakeside Baptist Church in Birmingham with Pastor Greg Corbin officiating. The burial will take place at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo on Wednesday, February 17th at 1:15p.m.
