Mary Ann Hunter

September 15, 1951 — November 16, 2020

Mary Ann Logan Hunter, age 69, was born on September 18, 1951 in Savannah, Georgia and passed away on November 16, 2020 in Birmingham, Alabama. Survivors are her mother, Estie Williams Logan, sister, Glenda Jean Logan and her brother William A. Logan (Connie). Ann was predeceased by her father, William E. D. Logan and sister, Pamelia Victoria Parker.

Although she struggled with the complications from severe spina bifida throughout her life, Ann did not let it slow her down for long. She quickly learned to overcome her disabilities and although she never took a step like the rest of us, she managed to get around just fine with crutches for many years and later could outrun anyone in her powered wheelchair. She graduated from Erwin High School in 1969 and received an Associate Degree from Jefferson State Community College in 1972. Ann wanted everyone to know that she was a Christian first and foremost. She dearly loved her family, her friends, her dog Jane, music, singing, and she loved drawing, painting and writing poetry for everyone. She will be greatly missed by her family and a host of friends, nurses, doctors, and caretakers.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Centerpoint on Saturday, November 21 at 1:00 pm. Face protection and social distancing are required. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Spina Bifida Association of Alabama at: SBA of Alabama, PO Box 35, Gadsden, AL 35902.
