Martin Larussa

February 20, 1945 — May 27, 2021

Martin “Paul” LaRussa age 76 of Birmingham, AL passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021 surrounded by his children.

Martin was born February 20, 1945. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Sandra Scarvey LaRussa; his parents, Paul Joseph LaRussa and Concetta “Jennie” LaRussa; his brother Bernard LaRussa; and his brother-in-law Gus Winstead.

Martin was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church. He attended both Our Lady of Lourdes and Holy Infant of Prague for 34 years. His love for God and family was obvious to everyone and his commitment to both was his highest priority. He was the proud owner of Paul’s Hotdogs and Grill which he and his wife founded in 1993. Paul’s Hotdogs will remain open and his legacy will continue to be run by his grandson, Luke LaRussa.

Martin is survived by his 3 adoring children, Connie Ruggerio (Claude); Paul LaRussa (Dana) and Angela Taylor (Nick);       13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren, sisters Priscilla Winstead and Frances Ann Sanders (David); a host of nieces and nephews and extended family.

The funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 3, 2021 with Father Douglas Vu presiding over the service.

The family will receive friends at 9:30 am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 980 Huffman Road, Birmingham, AL 35215.
