Kelvin Moses

March 16, 1932 — September 5, 2021

On March 16, 1932, on a small rural farm in Cullman County, Alabama, God sent into this world not someone to change this world but to make it a better place, so for that reason he wasn’t born with a silver spoon in his mouth, but with farm dirt in between his toes. Welcome world, Kelvin L. Moses (Mose), being next to last of 9 children, father dying when he was 9 years young, he had to form his own idea of being a man. Last Sunday, September 5, 2021 at age 89, Mr. Moses’ life on earth ended. He passed with the love of his life close to his side, his loving wife, and best friend of 69 years, Marion Moses. He is also survived by 4 children, Michael, Wanda Reed, Luther Clay, and John David, 18 grandkids, and 18 great-grandkids. Anyone who ever met Mose was struck with his smile, his heart of gold, and his happy-go-lucky personality. Mr. Moses wasn’t one to wear his religious beliefs on his sleeve, but was one that had his own personal relationship with God. That was the reason he made sure his kids were in Church with their Mother on Sundays. Strong work and moral values were ingrained in his children’s being, all work is good work. They were taught to say YES SIR/ YES MAM and NO SIR/ NO MAM, knew to respect their elders, do what your Mother tells you to do, and the channels on the TV were 2-6- and 9, and you don’t have to turn the knob so fast. He had the patience of Job, and a heart as big as Cullman County. He went from having to quit school in the 5th grade to make a family crop, to raising an outstanding family , and starting his own construction company. With a resume like his, bets are God will greet him at the Pearly Gates with open arms and a JOB WELL DONE. The family would like to thank each of you for your thoughts and prayers through these trying times. If you would like to pay your respects to Mr. Moses, the family will have a visitation on Thursday, September 9, from 1-2pm at Jefferson Memorial. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel at Jefferson Memorial, at 2pm on Thursday, September 9 with Tim Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Pinson, AL.
