Julian “Hugh” Turner passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021 in Trussville, Alabama at the age of 86. He was born August 25, 1934 to Wilton Green Tuner and Alfonso Turner. Hugh served more than 20 years in the Army and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. After his retirement, he taught ROTC with the Birmingham School System. Hugh was a graduate of Auburn University and a very avid Auburn fan. WAR EAGLE! He enjoyed watching Fox News and football. He attended The Healing Place Church in Trussville. He is survived by his loving daughter, Pamela Monroe and her husband, Allen Monroe; his son-in-law, Scott Harris; four grandchildren, Jordan and Jared Smith, Daniel and Nichole Harris. He is also survived by his nieces, Martha Flick, Terri McSweeney and Sherry Moore; nephews, Doug Dozier, Chuck Richards and Robby James and his first cousin, Rosemary Gilliland. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jimmie Nell Turner; two cherished daughters, Linda Harris and Elizabeth Garrison; his mother, Wilton Green Turner; and his father, Alfonso Turner. The family will receive friends Friday, July 16th beginning at 1:00 pm followed with a graveside service at 2:00 pm in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, Trussville, AL.
