H. Barnard

July 15, 1924 — January 29, 2020

H. Boyd Barnard finished his race well on January 29, 2020 at the age of 95 and entered his eternal life in heaven!  He was a native of Birmingham, graduated from Woodlawn High School, attended the University of Alabama, Biarritz American University, Biarritz France, and graduated from Howard College (Samford University).  He was a World War II veteran and served in the European Theater of Operations as a Radio Operator with the 787th Anti-Aircraft Battalion. He was the retired Manager of the Birmingham Group Office of the John Hancock Life Insurance Co., a long-time member of Huffman Baptist Church and the Grayson Valley Country Club. He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Frances and is survived by his daughter, Janice Williams (Steve); grandchildren – Robert Williams (Brigid), Stephanie Autry (Landon), Rich Wells, Josh Wells (Emily) and Stephen Wells (Keri) Greatgrandchildren – Hannah Williams, Brayden Wells, Ryleigh Autry, Tripp Wells and Claire Wells. He was the kindest, most loving and caring “Daddy”, “Daddy Boyd” and “Friend” to all he came in contact with. A celebration of his life will be Sunday, February 2, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville. Visitation is 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
