Dorrell Lee Maddox

Dorrell Lee Maddox passed away suddenly at UAB hospital, Birmingham, AL, on Wednesday, July 14th, 2021, due to bleeding in the abdomen. He was born January 14, 1959, to the late Samuel Lee and Lucille Laughter Maddox of Birmingham, AL. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Mara Gaynell Maddox, his son, Kevin Dewayne Maddox. He is survived by brothers, Alvis Lecil and Robert Maddox. Lee was deaf since birth and blind in his left eye with reduced sight in his right eye. He faced these challenges with such humbleness and courage. Those who know him find peace in knowing that this kind man can now see and hear perfectly in Heaven. He was an active member of the Gardendale, Alabama Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he won the hearts of his fellow saints because of his positive and upbeat attitude. He will be missed. Graveside prayer and his internment will be on Monday, July 19th, 2021, 2pm, in the cemetery area called Garden of Gethsemane at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 1591 Gadsden Hwy, Trussville, AL 35235.
