Diane Martin

Diane Black Martin, age 66, of Tuscaloosa, passed away Friday, April 16th, at her residence.

She was born on May 9th, 1954, in Birmingham, the daughter of the late Pete and Polly Black. Diane graduated from Huffman High School in 1972. She received her undergraduate degree in Education from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa in 1976. She completed her Masters degree in Education from UAB in 1978. Diane taught elementary education in her teaching career which spanned 25 years in multiple locations across the US including Atlanta, Chicago, Cincinnati and Dallas. Diane was an excellent teacher who had a very positive impact on her students over her career.

Diane is survived by her son Alan H. Martin of Tuscaloosa; her sister Donna Hite(Hal) of Birmingham; her grandchildren Stella Jane Martin and Hofman Martin of Tuscaloosa; her niece Jennifer Atkins of New Orleans, LA and nephews Clay Edgemon from Daphne, AL and Cody Edgemon from Gulf Shores, AL

A memorial service will be held for Diane on Tuesday April 20th, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville, AL. A graveside service at Jefferson Memorial Gardens Cemetery will be held at a later date.
