Betty Filer

Betty Sue Millar Filer age 88 of Birmingham Alabama, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, Jan 9th surrounded by her loving family.

She was born November 22nd 1933 in Pinson Alabama. She was married to Alvin V. Filer Jr for 22 years and had 3 children.  She is survived by Dan, David and Carol her children.  Also, she is survived by two of her 11 siblings, sister Shirley and brother Corbett “Gus" of Birmingham and 4 grandchildren - Sarah Filer, Abby Filer, Dylan DeBoer, Kate DeBoer.

Betty enjoyed playing the piano at her church in Pinson and gave piano lessons.

Her heart was her family, She will be missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Meals On Wheels of Jefferson Co.   There is a tab to donate right on the website.  Mowjeffco.org

Funeral service for immediate family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens in Trussville, AL. The visitation will begin at 1pm.

Donations in Betty Filer’s name will need to be made by check referencing the donation being made in her memory.
