Alice York

Alice Barton York, age 72, of Gardendale, AL passed away on June 23, 2020. She was a graduate of Phillips High School and also graduated with her Undergraduate and Master’s Degrees from Samford University. She retired as a teacher after 25 years from Mount Olive Elementary School, where she received a Second Mile Teacher Award. Mrs. York was a member of Gardendale First Baptist for 72 years. She was very active in Church and Community Organizations throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dora Alice Barton. She is survived by her husband, Larry York; her daughters, Amy Knight (Spencer) and Laura Young (Brett); her brother, Ross Barton; and  her  grandchildren, Anna Caroline,   Olivia, Anglin,  Averi,  Millie and  Beckett.     Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 26, at 11am at Gardendale First Baptist North Campus. A visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.
