William Huddleston York, Jr., age 67 passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at St. Vincent's East Hospital in Trussville, AL. He was born October 18, 1948 in Birmingham, AL at Jefferson-Hillman Hospital to William Huddleston York, Sr. and Annie Elene Seaver York. Throughout Bill's life, he accomplished so much, ranging from little league to his Harley Davidsons. As a youth, he enjoyed summer camps at Winnataska and Shocco Springs. Bill attended and graduated from Woodlawn High Schoolin 1967 where he was a Top Hatter. He joined the Navy in 1969 and served for 4 years. He was a Petty Officer 3rd Class and an airplane engine mechanic. As a member of Roebuck Park Baptist Church, he was a born again Christian. He was also a Royal Ambassador for Christ, Cavalon for Christ, and 6th grade Sunday School teacher. Bill led a very active life including playing the banjo, a member of WERA motorcycle roadracing, Florabama Riders, Iron Butt Association, and HOG (Harley Owners Group). Bill was an honest, loving, big hearted man, and will be missed by many. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, William Huddleston York, Sr. and Annie Elene Seaver York; his sister, Joyce (Dean) Geraldine York; and by his son, William Huddleston York III. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Pamela Diane Cox York; children, Charles Keith Bain, Krystle Diane Carden Herron (Dusty); his grandchildren, William Huddleston York IV, Connor Kadyn Bain, Tyler Jase Herron, Jackson Lee Herron; and his brother, John Cecil York (Michelle). Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 2pm at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville. A visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.
