William Carpenter

William “Bill” Carpenter, of Birmingham went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 10, 2022.

Bill was born March 19, 1929 to the late Robert and Lucille Carpenter of Dothan Al.  After completing high school in Ozark Al. he moved to Birmingham Al. where he met and married the love of his life, the late Geraldine “Jerry” Charlton.  Bill and Jerry were Charter Members of Ridgecrest Baptist church in Trussville.

Bill is preceded in death by his brother, Foy Carpenter and three sisters Bobbie Sammarco, Elsie Phillips and Linda Carpenter.

He is survived by his stepson, Dr. Steve (Pam) Charlton of Elberta, AL. grandson Dr. Scott (Ashley) Charlton of Enterprise, AL.  Great grandchildren Molly Kate, Cooper, Mary Harlin and Gibson all of Enterprise. AL. sister Elaine (Ted) Terry of Atlanta, Ga. brothers Gene (Zona) Carpenter of Columbus, Ga, Gary (Judy) Carpenter of Jacksonville, FL, sister-in-law, Charlotte Carpenter, Atlanta, Ga, and many nieces and nephews.

Honorary Pallbearers are Pastor Bill Stephens of Crossway Baptist Church Foley, AL.  Community Hospice of Baldwin County, Terry Kurtts, MD Elberta, AL. Ridgecrest Baptist Church Trussville. AL.

Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 18th at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville with Johnny Kilgore officiating.
