William Braswell

Braswell, William Robert (Billy) Jr., age 38, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2008. He is survived by his wife Paula Griner Braswell, his parents William R. Sr. and Gayle R. Braswell, sister Terri Seeber, brother in law Bruce Seeber and one niece, Audrey Seeber and one nephew, Ryan Seeber, all of Atlanta, his parents in law Randy and Joy Griner, uncles Buford W. (Pat) Braswell Jr., Wayne M. (Sharon) Braswell and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Carolyn H. Braswell and Rubel S. and Robbie L. Roberts. Billy graduated from Huffman High School and the University of Alabama in Birmingham. He had been a teacher in the Birmingham, Jefferson County, and Oneonta school systems. Billy was a musician and wrote many songs. He played drums with the band "Good Wood" and guitar with the band "In Harms Way". He grew up attending Sun Valley Church of Christ. Lloyd Barker, former preacher there will be conducting the ceremony. Services will be on Wednesday July 30, at 10am in the Chapel at Jefferson Memorial with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5pm until 7pm Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Association of Mental Illness (NAMI) or Blount County Animal Shelter.
