William Benefield

William L. "Bud" Benefield passed away November 20, 2017, at the age of 78. Bud is survived by his wife of 32 years, Shirley Branyon Benefield of Trussville, AL; daughter, Lise Kelley (Joey) of Andalusia, AL; son, Jerry Benefield of Athens, AL; sister, Inez Perryman of Douglasville, GA; grandchildren and their families, Kristina Hudson (Stephen), Kevin Carter, Jay Kelley (Hayden), Blair Hancock (Jeff) and a great grandson, Cody Robinson. Other survivors include, Bob, David, Donald and Susan and their respective families; numerous nieces and nephews. Bud was preceded in death by his son, Mike Benefield; his parents, William Hardy & Alice Benefield; sister, Faye Hughes. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in his memory to Pineview Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. A funeral will be held at 12 noon on Friday, November 24th at Jefferson Memorial Chapel in Trussville; burial will immediately follow at Jefferson Memorial's adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Reverends Stanley Layton and Alan Higdon are officiating.
