Virginia Maxine H. Kemp, passed away on June 13, 2026. Maxine was born in Fayette County, Alabama near the town of Bankston, AL to her parents, William Howard Hendon and Nola Sylvia Dobbs Hendon. She was a charter member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Birmingham and Trussville for 70 years. She loved working with the Children from nursey age to preschool ages. She was a Training Union Secretary for almost 25 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, JC Kemp; one brother, Ralph Hendon and his wife, Mary and one brother-in-law, Charles Alexander. She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Faye Kemp and sister, Eloise Alexander; she is also survived by 2 nieces and a nephew. Pallbearers will be David Rayburn, Lynn Paseur, Buster Rouse, Terry Edwards and Dale Gartman. Honarary pallbearers will be David Hendon, Dennis Gartman, Scott Montgomery and Ronny Shelton.
