Vickey Cornelius

Vickey Lynn Cornelius, age 67 of Remlap, AL passed away peacefully at her home on March 20, 2022. She graduated from Huffman High School. Vickey retired from BellSouth after 30 years of service. After retirement she spent most of her time with her grandsons. Vickey loved to shop for the grandkids. Vickey would rather do something for someone else than herself. She was a unique and loving person. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Vickey is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Doug Cornelius; her children, Erick Harris (Brandy), Alan Cornelius (Amy), and five grandsons, Rhoaden, Cayden, and Evan Harris, Joseph, and James Cornelius; her brother, Tommy Hammond (Stacey).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy Hammond, and Bobbie Bedford Hammond; her sister, Sandra Waldrop (Chuck).

A funeral for Vickey will be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 23rd at 2:00 p.m. with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow the chapel service at Jefferson Memorial’s adjoining cemetery. Pastor Mark smith will preside over the services.
