Velma Louise Gill, of Alabama, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on July 12, 2026. Born in Empire AL, Velma was raised in Birmingham, where she built a life centered on her unwavering faith in Christ and her unconditional lover for her family. She was a loving Mother, a devoted Granny and a friend whose kindness touched everyone she met.

Her faith in Jesus was the foundation of her life. She faithfully attended throughout the years at Huffman Assembly of God, Cathedral of the Cross, and Gateway Family Church. She lived as a reflection of God’s love, leaving a legacy of faith that will guide generations to come.

She is survived by her son, James (Linda) Gill; 13 Grandchildren; Multiple great grandchildren; multiple great great grandchildren’ and lots of Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, and Uncles.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eva & Marvin Cole; husband, Jody; children, Jody, Johnny, Linda, Jerry, Robert, and Virginia; brother, Lester Cole; and sister, Virginia Dauphin.
