Timothy Leon Sweet

Timothy Leon Sweet, age 66, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. Born on August 24, 1959, Timothy was the beloved son of the late Janice Sweet and the late Leon Sweet. Ten years later, he proudly became a big brother to Michael Sweet (Carla), a role he carried with love and humor throughout his life.

On November 5, 1985, Timothy married the love of his life, Linda Richards. Together they built a family rooted in laughter, storytelling, and enduring love. He was a devoted father to Bridget Melton (Kerry), the late Brandi Goodwin, and Adam Cloud (Stephanie).

Timothy was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather to Brittney (Robert), Grayson, Chase, Caitlyn, Kendall, Barrett, Marshall, Ocean, Vallen, and Asher. He also leaves behind cherished nieces and nephews: Taylor (Katie), Taylor Nicole, Jacob, and Michaela.

Timothy never met a stranger and could turn even the simplest memory into a grand adventure. He especially loved sharing stories from his years working as a skycap for Delta Airlines, where his personality, humor, and gift for conversation left lasting impressions on countless people. He loved cars—especially Mustang GTs—and enjoyed working on just about anything that could be taken apart and put back together with a good set of tools. Summers spent at the beach building sandcastles, searching for tiny crabs in the seaweed, and making memories with family were among his happiest moments.

He will be remembered for his larger-than-life stories, his quick wit, his stubborn spirit, and the love he carried for his family. Though he is deeply missed, the memories he created will continue to bring laughter and comfort to those who knew him.

Visitation will be Monday, May 11, 2026 from 11:30am - 12:30pm. A graveside service will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery at 1:00pm.
