Timothy Cowan

March 5, 1994 — July 13, 2022

TIMOTHY "TATER" ALEXANDER COWAN-HOBSON, 28, Born March 5,1994, took his first steps into Heaven on July 13,2022 at St. Vincent Birmingham Hospital after lengthy illness.
Tater is survived by his mom and daddy, Deborah Allred Cowan Hobson and Shane Hobson of Rosa, AL. Along with them, his father, Michael Cowan (Shanna) of IL. His great-grandfather, Richard Cowan of SC. His siblings, Kimberly (Austin) Brower of AL, Shayna Hobson (Zachary Warren) of Oneonta, AL , Slade (Ashley) Cowan, Aiden Cowan of IL. Multiple aunts and uncles, Donna Allred (Chris) Valentine of Cleveland, Cliff (Debbie) Allred of Mobile, Christopher Hobson (Dawn Shultz) of Gardendale. Nieces and nephews, Cody and Alaynna Kilgore of AL; Victoria Brower of AL. Cousins Bethany and Madison Hobson of Jefferson County and Kiana Valentine of Albertville.
Tater was preceded in his earthly journey by his grandparents, Eugene & Shirley Bishop Allred, Kenneth & Gertrude Hobson, Jean Cowan, and Richard & Janet Cowan.
Alex left us all with a challenge, having lived his life with less than 5% of his brain stem following his diagnoses with bacterial meningitis when he was 10-days old. Aside from outliving his original prognosis of living a maximum of 3 months he accomplished remarkable things. He was the world's best listener, provided wise advice without saying a word, held no grudges, appreciated every kindness done for him and never begrudged another for the blessings of God in their life. Tater was a bit of a prankster, "hide my favorite stuffed tater tot from my ICU nurse" always got a laugh. As well as great person, Tater loved Johnny Cash music (Folsom Prison Blues being his favorite). Alex knew his immediate family despite his doctors warning us he would never understand who we were. He resides in Heaven now and is completely whole. Next time you think you are not smart enough, good enough, capable enough remember Alex and think again.
