Terry Allen Simmons, 66, of Trussville, AL passed away on January 31, 2026, in Kansas City, MO. Mr. Simmons was born on February 8th, 1959 to Horace and Dorothy (Smitherman) Simmons.
He was born in Trussville, Alabama, and built a life marked by hard work, heart, and humor. For the past three and a half years, he faced colon cancer with quiet strength and resilience, showing the same determination that defined so much of his life. An entrepreneur at spirit, he owned several businesses throughout his life, but many will remember him best as the proud owner of Kwik Oil Change in Trussville, which he opened in April of 1988. He wasn't just a business owner - he was a familiar, friendly face to generations of customers who were always sent off with his signature words, "thank you, have a good day."
Outside of work, he found his greatest peace with a fishing rod in hand, enjoying the quiet and simplicity of being near the water. A devoted Alabama fan, he was known for his enthusiastic "Roll Tide," a phrase that was as much a part of him as his smile.
He was preceded in death by his parents Horace Allen and Dorothy Louise Simmons and sister Cathy Lynette Simmons.
He is survived by his children; Carly Ammons - daughter, Jacob Simmons - son, Hunter Simmons - son, Kaitlyn Bridgeman - daughter, Jackson Bridgeman - son-in-law, Tristin Simmons - daughter-in-law, Tessa Ammons - granddaughter, Justyce Ammons - grandson, Lawson Bridgeman - grandson, Adelai Simmons - granddaughter, Elliott Bridgeman - grandson, Vickie Cobb - sister , Zachary Cobb - nephew.
