Stanley Frank Jett

April 19, 1940 — April 22, 2026

Stanley Frank Jett of Pinson, Alabama, passed away on April 22, 2026, just three days after his 86th birthday. He was born on April 19, 1940, in Cullman, Alabama, to Earl and Helen Jett.

He shared 59 years of marriage with his wife, Luzetta “Ricky” Jett. Together, they built a life and family side by side. Through the years, one of his quiet ways of showing love was picking a wildflower from the yard and bringing it to her.

Stanley was a man of few words, but the words he did use often came with perfect timing. He could sit quietly for a long stretch and then catch everyone off guard with a funny remark or a silly joke. He fished, he drew, he wrote, he loved animals, and he believed in Jesus.

Stanley served in the United States Air Force in the 1960s as a military police K-9 handler, where he trained and worked with military dogs. That experience stayed with him for the rest of his life. He came home with a deep love for dogs, and through the years, there was almost always one nearby, often with a cat or two, or sometimes three, making themselves just as comfortable.

He spent most of his working life in paper and plastics manufacturing in Alabama, including long careers at St. Regis and Huntsman. He was a steady, dependable worker who showed up day after day for his family. Like many men of his generation, he worked hard, provided faithfully, and kept going because that’s what needed to be done.

Stanley loved fishing more than just about anything, and he was good at it. He knew where to cast, when to wait, and how to enjoy the quiet in between. He also pulled for Auburn football his whole life and, in one of his greater acts of fatherly grace, somehow managed to forgive his daughter for going to The University of Alabama.

Stanley loved watching movies and laughing at a good comedy. He spent hours with a video game controller in his hands or watching YouTube. He was an artist at heart and had a real gift for drawing and writing. He encouraged his daughter, Stacy, to follow her own creative path, something that reflected a part of him she will always carry with her.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Helen Jett; his brother, Thomas Jett; and his sister, Florence “Flo” Mickle.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Luzetta “Ricky” Jett; his daughter, Stacy, and her husband; his siblings, Steve Jett, Terry Jett, Maxine Morgan, and Flora Ruth Greene; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens in Trussville, Alabama. Family visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m., with public visitation following at 11:00 a.m.

When Stanley said goodbye, he often said, “Adios, amigo,” which means “goodbye, my friend.” But Stanley never meant it as goodbye forever. He doesn’t now. His family doesn’t now. And the Lord he believed in never did.
