Sarah Elizabeth Sample, age 90 of Birmingham, AL passed away on September 6, 2026. She was born and raised in Birmingham area. She was a member of Church of the Highlands Grants Mill Campus, Mat Makers Small Groups. She retired from the Mountain Brook School System. She cherished her church and her family as well as her children and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Frank Owen Sample and her son, Ron Markus Sample. She is survived by her son, Roddy and his wife, Leigh Ann; grandson, Tyler (Tracy) and Heath; great granddaughter, Mila. Visitation will be on Friday, September 11, 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Church of the Highlands at Grants Mill and services will begin at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Forest Crest Cemetery. Pastor Stephen Bischoff will be officiating the services for Mrs. Sample. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Church of the Highlands.
