Sandra Eads Malone

Sandra Eads Malone was “Sandy” to most, friend to many, and Mother, Gramma, and Sister to those dearest to her. On September 21, 2026, at the age of 72, Sandy passed from this world after a brief battle with cancer.

Sandy is survived by her children Stacy Cooke (Brian) and Brandon Malone; grandchildren Peyton (Hunter), Parker, Brayden, and Haven; her brother John Eads (Tori); and many dear extended family members. Central to Sandy’s life was her loving family who will remember her as a fiercely independent and deeply caring woman. She was fun-loving and adventurous and enjoyed travelling alongside her children and grandchildren. Her selflessness and dedication to her family was shown most clearly in the love she poured into her grandchildren. No matter her own circumstances, Sandy ensured all four of them were supported each month throughout college, sending a simple text that read, “Sent your $25, love you!” This support extended to all aspects of their lives as she was constant and unwavering in her love for them.

In addition to her loving family, Sandy leaves behind too many thrifted treasures to count. A lover of beautiful, shiny, sparkly things, Sandy was known for her avid thrifting and antiquing and her keen eye for gems that others would overlook. Each Christmas, her family would look forward to the “bags of stuff” as they were affectionately known. These bags would hold all of the things she had collected for each person throughout the year. Items ranging from household tools to small knickknacks showed how her family was always on her mind, especially while she was out doing one of the hobbies she loved the most. The thrill of the hunt brought her so much joy, and now these treasures fill her family’s homes, a constant reminder of her happiness and spirit.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents Helen and John Eads, her brother David Eads, and her beloved niece Amy Eads Dempsey.

Her family will find her in dragonflies, little trinkets, and the pages of a good book. A gravesite service to celebrate Sandy’s memory will be held at 10 in the morning on September 26 at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville, AL.
