Ruthie Holmes

HOLMES, RUTHIE MAE BUCKNER, age 93, of Palmerdale, Alabama went to be with the Lord on June 25, 2013. She was retired from Jefferson County and a member of the Palmerdale United Methodist Church.She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Austin "Cap" Buckner; mother, Ruthie Ovada Taylor Buckner; brothers, James, N.C., Billy and Marvin Buckner and sisters, Eva Meadows, Mildred Branham, Dean Bright and Betty Horton. She is survived by her son, Verbon (Sheila) Holmes; daughter, Elaine Holmes; grandson, Barry (Stella) Holmes; great-grandson, Jackson Holmes; sister, Nettie Kimberley and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 28, 2013 at 12:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville. Burial will follow at Pleasant Mount Baptist Church, Remlap, AL. Family will receive friends on Thursday, June 27, 2013 from 5 to 7 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
