Age 91, of Birmingham, AL passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, February 1st.

Rufus was born in Hardman Co., TN. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged on Dec. 10, 1982. Mr. West was a member of Deerfoot Baptist Church, but in recent years he attended Eastside Baptist. He was a member of the Masonic Temple #480, Zamora Temple, American Legion Post 102, and the Association of the United States Army.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 70 years, Josephine Pruette West; children, Joseph W. West & Marilyn West Nicholas; grandchildren: Rebecca, Cindy, Cheynna, Seria, Shalee, Tanner; Great grandchildren: Brittany, Milley, Austin, Savanna, Michael, & Marianne.

A graveside service will be at 11am on Feb. 5th at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Pastor Mark Smith is officiating. Jefferson Memorial in Trussville is directing.
