Roger Smith

Roger "Zeke" Smith, age 81, of Greensboro, AL, passed away on July 22, 2016. Mr. Smith was employed with Consolidated Pipe for 30 years. He was a member of the 1957 Auburn National Championship Team, as well as being Auburn's first national award winner by winning the Outland Trophy in 1958. Mr. Smith was a loving father and grandfather, a friend to all and an inspiration to many. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Smith; and his brothers, Hugh Smith and Donald Smith. He is survived by his children, Steve Smith, Scott Smith (Zina), Scarlett Johnson (Bill), Bruce Smith (Kelly); his sister, Cathleen Andrews; his brothers, James Smith and Carl Smith; his grandchildren, Meagan McCayna, Mallory Smith, Zac Smith, Brianna Smith, Sydney Smith, Ashley Johnson, Austin Johnson, Amanda Johnson, Dylan Smith, Alyson Smith; and 5 great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 25, 2016 at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville from 5-8pm. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, July 26, at 10am at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville, with Bro. George McKee officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
