Robin Elaine Myricks

October 5, 1963 — March 8, 2026

Robin Elaine Reynolds Myricks was born October 5, 1963, to the late Marion Sr. and Sudie B. Reynolds in Jefferson County, Alabama.

She confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Reverend J. N. Fuller at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. She later moved her membership to Faith Chapel under the pastoral care of Pastor Michael D. Moore.

She attended Zion Lutheran School at the age of five and later went to Roosevelt Elementary School and A.G. Gaston Jr. High School. She graduated, at the age of 17, with an Advanced Academic Diploma from Shades Valley High School, Class of 1981. Following in her Mother’s footsteps, she attended UAB School of Nursing, where she soon learned, after fainting in class watching a birthing video, Nursing was not God’s plan for her. She then transferred to RETS School of Business, where she received her degree in Business Administration.

Robin, affectionately known as (Lane) by her family and friends, was a very well-organized person, whereas all things had to be done in proper order. She always looked out for the comfort and welfare of others. Thoughtfulness and consideration came naturally, when in reality, being unselfish requires work. With God being #1, family was also of high priority, in which she personally wrote the “Reynolds Family Confession” in hopes of keeping the family bond strong.

In 1992, she married the love of her life, Darrell Lennell Myricks, and to this marriage, they were blessed with one son, Micah Jamal Myricks.

Robin worked at Dairy Queen while starting her career at UAB, office clerk at Western Supermarket, SouthTrust Bank for 10 years, and State Farm Insurance Company for 17 years before retiring. Robin became a stay-at-home wife and mom until she volunteered her service at her church, Faith Chapel. Robin always said she did not wish to hold a full-time job anymore, but little did she know that volunteering would land her back into the workplace. (Yes, working again!)

On March 8, 2026, this beautiful and extraordinary person departed to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her son, Joshua T. Parks, her parents, Marion Reynolds Sr. and Sudie B. Reynolds Jackson, and loving brother Marion Reynolds Jr. aka (Tuna).

Robin is survived by her loving husband, Darrell Lennell Myricks; one son, Micah Jamal Myricks of Birmingham, AL; two brothers, Anthony (Rochelle) Reynolds of McCalla, AL, Dewight (Cowanda) Reynolds of Pleasant Grove, AL; three sisters, Patricia Reynolds of Birmingham, AL, Laretha Brown of Adamsville, AL, Reverend Katrena (Clifford) Boyd of Birmingham, AL; three brother-in-laws, Lennell (Pam) Myricks Jr. of Cincinnati, OH, Alan (Loretta) Myricks of Gary, IN, Gregory (Mary) Myricks of Hammond, IN; and a host of relatives and friends.
