Robert "Bobby" Childs

Robert “Bobby” Childs, age 44, of Trussville, AL went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 12, 2025.

Bobby was born on September 8, 1980 in Birmingham, AL. He was a graduate of Hewitt Trussville High School, class of 1998, and later from Highlands College. Bobby specialized in many careers ranging from the door and hardware industry to IT to personal injury. He was known for his computer skills, sense of humor, loyalty and his gift of gab. Bobby loved to speak and teach God’s word to anyone who would listen. He was a devoted Christian, husband, father, son, grandson, friend and work out partner. His passion was talking to others about his love for the Lord, his family and Auburn football. He was asked to preach on numerous occasions and loved to share his faith with others. He had an infectious smile that would light up any room. He was a friend to everyone he met and enjoyed meeting people even from a young age.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 10 years, Michelle Childs; his children, Jayzk, Maddie and Leighton; his parents, Pat and Kathy Caddell. He is also survived by his sister, Lindsay (Josh) Pilgrim; brothers Dan (Tina) Childs and Justin (Kareena) Childs; grandmothers, Nancy Fluker, Teresa Childs and Julia Caddell; aunts, Ellen Cook, Carla (Tim) Cole; uncle, Paul (Jennifer) Caddell; and several precious nieces and nephews.

Bobby is preceded in death by his father, Bruce Childs; and grandfathers James H. Childs, Gordon Fluker and Bill Caddell.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2025 at Faith Community Fellowship in Trussville, AL. The church is located at 7660 Gadsden Highway, Trussville, Al.35173. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Bobby’s children’s support fund.
