Robert Allan "Bob" Barrett 

July 19, 1950 – July 25, 2025

Robert Allan Barrett, known to many as Bob, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, at the age of 75, surrounded by his loved ones at DCH Regional Medical Center.

Bob was born on July 19, 1950, in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late Joseph Barrett Jr. and Faye G. Barrett. He was a proud graduate of the University of Alabama, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting. He went on to have a successful career, serving as Chief Financial Officer for Gulf States Paper Corporation, later known as the Westervelt Company, Inc.

A man of deep faith and generosity, Bob was a devoted member of Cottondale Church of Christ, where he taught Sunday School and cherished his church community. He dedicated much of his time to service, including volunteering with FOCUS on Senior Citizens, assisting older adults with their taxes and offering support with compassion and care.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Leann Barrett; his brothers, Dave Barrett and Jon Barrett; and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Barrett.

In his free time, Bob enjoyed golfing, fly fishing, and traveling the country with Leann in their RV, embracing each journey with joy and curiosity.

To honor his memory, please join us for a graveside service to be held on July 29th at 10:00 a.m. at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, 1591 Gadsden Highway, Trussville, Alabama 35173. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1pm at Cottondale Church of Christ, 2025 Prude Mill Road, Cottondale, Alabama 35453.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Cottondale Church of Christ, in honor of Bob’s lifelong commitment to faith and service.
