Richard Earl Serviss Jr.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 21^st, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM, at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home for Richard Earl Serviss Jr., age 81, of Birmingham, who passed away on Wednesday, May 15^th, 2024. Graveside funeral services will immediately follow. Arrangements under the direction of Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens. 

Richard was a Graduate of both Jacksonville State University and The Birmingham School of Law. He was a longtime member of the Alabama Woodturners Association and he retired from State Farm Insurance Company with over 30 years of service. 

Preceding him in death are his parents, Richard Serviss Sr. and Rhetta Ophelia Serviss.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Serviss; daughter, Leigh Serviss; brother, Joseph Serviss; sister, Janice Tidwell; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Pallbearers will be Richard’s friends and family. 

In lieu of flowers, the Serviss family asks that memorial donations be made in his name to the JSU Foundation, 700 Pelham Road N., Jacksonville, AL 36265 or to the Blazer Scholarship Fund at UAB Athletics (Blazer Boosters Attn: Adam Savoie, Bartow Arena West Tower, 617 13th St. S., Birmingham, AL 35294-3340).
