Philip Riggins

Funeral Services for Mr. Philip Riggins, age 71 of Pinson, will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with Brother Kerry Bradford and Brother Billy McCay officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining gardens.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025 from 10:30 A.M. until service time at 12:00 P.M. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home.

Philip Leslie Riggins was a devoted Christian and a stranger to no one. He was the son of Wallace and Geneva Riggins. He was born on February 5, 1954, and raised in Trussville, Alabama. He was one of four siblings: Wally, Wayne, and Donnie. Growing up, Philip loved the Boy Scouts, exploring the woods, and fishing with his brother Donnie. He graduated from Trussville High School in 1972.

Philip was an avid kayaker and runner. He kayaked the Grand Canyon, the French Broad, the Gauley, and many other whitewater rivers alongside lifelong friend Jeff Morrison. He co-owned and operated WB Riggins Tallow Company with his brothers. He was a great leader and provider for his entire family.

Philip married the love of his life, Bambi, in 1991. He is survived by his wife and his four children Zachary (Monica), Erin (Dewayne), Kylee (Tyler), and Chad. He had five beloved grandchildren: Nathan, Cade, Amelia, Lincoln, and Logan. He is also survived by his brother Donnie (Lee Anne).

Philip often said his family was his pride and joy. A quick scroll through his phone’s picture album revealed his favorite subjects: family, the beaches of Destin, sunsets, music, cooking, lake life, his puppies Ellie and Maggie, and the Alabama Crimson Tide.

He lived a vibrant and joyful life, guided by his Christian faith. His advice to everyone was simple but powerful: do whatever makes you happy. He would want us to say it for him, one last time: “Roll Tide!” and “Go Bama, Go!”
