Funeral Services for Mrs. Montelle “Montie” Aaron Norsworthy, age 54 of Birmingham, will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. David Awtrey and Bro. James Long officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining gardens.

Montie passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at UAB Hospital. Born in Birmingham, she graduated from Pelham High School in 1989. After graduation, she went on to attend and graduate from the University of Montevallo. While employed with Bell South, she was chosen to obtain an MBA from Shorter College. Montie received her Masters of Education from the University of Alabama and was an elementary and kindergarten teacher in Alabama and Georgia for 14 years. She adored her students and went above and beyond to make sure each one felt important and loved. Montie worked at Center Point Elementary, Odenville Elementary and worked as a substitute teacher at Hewitt Elementary. She was loved by all her students and even received graduation invitations from 3 of her former students. She was very artistic, but especially loved crafting and sewing. She operated La Te Da Crafts by Montie, where she personally designed and distributed handmade Christmas ornaments. Montie made an ornament for many life events for which she will forever be remembered.

Montie met the love of her life Keith, they were married for 17 wonderful years brought together by God’s design and were a perfect match for each other. Montie was a loving wife, daughter, teacher and friend who will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Keith Norsworthy, her mother, Patricia “Patsy” Cottrell, her stepfather, Dr. David Cottrell, her stepmother, Anita H. Aaron, her two little canine companions that brought her much laughter and joy. Montie was taken too soon from her family, but they find comfort knowing she is resting in the arms of Jesus.

She was preceded in death by her father, David Aaron and her brother, Patrick Aaron.

Dr. Jason Smith, Bill Benedict, Jerry Marshall, Jason Reed, James Talton and John Little will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of sending flowers to the family donations may be made to Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation in Montie’s memory.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026 from 12:00 P.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home.
