Obituary

Michael Lee Morgan, Age 79 of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2026. Born on January 17, 1947 to parents Billy and Gladys Morgan in McCool, Mississippi. While living in Birmingham, he served as a Birmingham Police Officer for 22 years. During those 22 years as an officer, he became a motorcycle police officer, as well as, becoming part of the Swat team for Birmingham. During his time as an officer, he joined the Fraternal order of Police as well as the National Tactical Officers Association. After his retirement from the police force, he became the Revenue Director for the City of Pelham where he worked for another 22 years. While being part of many organizations for work he was part of a couple groups outside. He was a Bass Player and Singer for ‘The Mark IV Band, Slingshot Band, as well as, being part of Route 66 Band.

He is survived by his wife, Becky Quinn Morgan; Son, Michael Dale Morgan; son Mitch Alan Morgan (Sherry Dawson); Brother, Billy Joe Morgan (Jim); and sister, Annette Morgan.

He is preceded in death by his father, Billy S. Morgan; Mother, Gladys Davis Morgan; and brother, Jesse Alan Morgan.

Officiating will be: Wendy Lovell (preacher), Andrea Furman, and Dave Porter

John 14:27: "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
