Merita Tingley

Merita Rudd Tingley of Springville passed away at her home August 12, 2008 at the age of 72. She was a loving devoted mother, grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a graduate of the University of Alabama, where she earned a Bachelors of Science in Nursing and her masters. She was a maternity nurse at Carraway Hospital and the Dean of Nursing at Jefferson State Community College, where she later retired.

Funeral services will be held Friday August 15, 2008 at 12:00 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with burial at Springville City Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00-7:00pm at the funeral home. Survivors include three daughters: Reba Michelle Connelly (Joseph) of Radcliff, KY, Daphne Tingley Childers of Springville, and Rena Lynn Johnson (Warren) of Springville; one grandson: John Seth Brasfield of Pell City. She was also survived by her loving friends: Tom & Jo Ann Fitch of Springville and Melina Henshaw & family. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Odyssey Hospice and her personal care- givers for their loving care and support through this difficult time.
