Mattie Sue Peoples

February 24, 1935 — April 4, 2026

On April 4, 2026, Mattie Sue (Carroll) Peoples (91) of Trussville, AL went home to be with her husband of 67 years, Emory “Booty” Peoples, and to reunite with her mother, her father, and nine siblings who passed before her.

She is survived by her son Bryan Peoples (Cindia), her daughter Darlene Smith (Zeke), her grand-children Kristen Bobo (Patrick), Drew Smith (Megan), Heather Turner (Andrew), Katie Cox (Michael), Collier Peoples, and Lindsey Smith, and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was a staple in the Trussville community as the owner and operator of the Bama Drive-In by feeding all who needed a meal and supported education and sports activities that enhanced the lives of children.

Sue Peoples' life will be honored and celebrated by friends and family through a visitation held at the Chapel of the First Baptist Church, Trussville, from 12:00 pm-2:00 pm on Thursday, April 9, 2026. A private graveside ceremony will follow for the family at 2:30 pm at the Masonic Gardens of Jefferson Memorial.

Please join us on Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Trussville.
