Mattie Coker

Mattie L. Coker, age 88, of Birmingham, AL, went home to be with the Lord on November 1, 2011. She was a faithful member of Agape Baptist Church; she was a loving mother & grandmother and will be dearly missed. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Coker; brothers, Glen, Joe Mac, Paul, James "Buster" and Johnny Marshall; sisters, Esther Ulmer & Willie Lee Hollis. Mrs. Coker is survived by her sons, Jack Coker (Beverly) & Rick Coker (Debra); grandchildren, Lisa, Brian, Chris, Pam, April & Jessie; great grandchildren, Alec, Marissa, Harper, Jackson, Cameron, & Kinsey; brothers, Terry Marshall (Sybil) and Tommy Marshall (Johnnie B) as well as sister, Betty Sue Moore (Richard). The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of East Glen Nursing Home and to Comfort Care Hospice for their care and service. Visitation will be Friday, November 4, 2011 at 12:00PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 1:00PM on Friday with burial to follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
