Matthew Cleghorn

Matthew Acker Cleghorn of Clay, Alabama, went to be with his Heavenly Father on January 22, 2021. He was an electrician by vocation and a member of First Baptist Church of Center Point. He was a graduate of Pinson Valley High School. He was a loving father and an avid fly fisherman. He enjoyed walking in the Turkey Creek Nature Preserve and was also a proud member of the first UAB Marching Blazer Band. He was preceded in death by his father, James Acker Cleghorn, Ill. He is survived by his mother, Sue Allen Cleghorn; his sons, Wilson Acker Cleghorn and Avery James Cleghorn; his brother, Chris (Dana) Cleghorn; his niece Caitlyn (Dustin) Whitaker, and nephews Ryan Cleghorn and Drew Cleghorn and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 29th, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East, with David Haynes officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Adult and Teen Challenge of Alabama.
