Marjorie Marie Collins

Marjorie (Marjie) Marie Collins passed July 6, 2025. She was preceded in death by husband Donald Curtis Collins, daughter Cindy Lee Collins, son Donald Ron Collins, parents Fred and Isabella Kluck Schlosser, brother Donald Schlosser and sister Rose Benson.

Survivors include her daughter Tina Jo Collins McKelvey (Dunn), grandsons Paul Donald McKelvey (Elise), Kevin Collins McKelvey (Lucy) and granddaughter Marjie Lee Doughty (Jake). Also 8 great grandchildren Collins Elise McKelvey, Paul Donald (Mac) McKelvey Jr., William Dunn McKelvey, Jolee Rose Doughty, Evelyn (Evie) Marie Doughty, Jacob Collins (JC) Doughty Jr., Mitchell Dunn McKelvey and Miller Hayes McKelvey.

Marjie was a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois where she was a cheerleader, member and rush chairman of Sigma Kappa Sorority. She acquired a B.S. degree and taught Junior High Home Economics before becoming a flight attendant for Western Airlines.

Marjie, a member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church, was active in Grace Ladies, a ministry for widows. She was a volunteer at Kirklin Clinic oncology department of UAB Auxiliary for 25 years. She was a charter member of Clipped Wings, a social organization for former flight attendants.

A memorial celebration service will be held at Briarwood Presbyterian Church, on Monday, July 21st at 1:30 pm. Visitation will follow the service.
