Marion Aytes Neskaug, age 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, December 15, 2025. He was born in Deer Lodge, Tennessee, on January 28, 1941. He attended school in Sunbright, Tennessee, and graduated from Central High School in Wartburg, Tennessee, in 1958. He married Patsy Gaskin on May 26, 1961.He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Patsy Neskaug, his parents, Pete and Fern Neskaug, his older brother, Andreas Neskaug, nephew, Paul Neskaug, and sister-in-law, Sue McDaniel. He is survived by his three daughters, Angie Sinclair (Don), Amy Dombroski, and Jennifer Robinson (Shannon). He enjoyed and loved his six grandchildren, Rachel Sinclair, Andrew Sinclair (Amanda), Katie Dombroski, John Dombroski Jr., Parker Robinson, and Caroline Robinson. He also has a new great-grandson, Noah Cuestas. He is survived by his two younger brothers, Dennis Neskaug (Betty) and Tommy Neskaug (Brenda), sister-in-law, Martha Neskaug, and brother-in-law, George Gaskin (Cathy), and many nieces.
Marion loved his family and had a strong desire to provide for them. His work ethic came from working at a young age in his father’s sawmill. After graduation, he served his country in the Army at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas, as a Gun Crewman. He later served in the Air Force as an Air Policeman and even service in Etain, France, with his brother Andreas. His greatest love and devotion was to his wife, Patsy. They were a team and faced life together, moving to many states following jobs across the South. Marion always strived to better serve himself professionally in the steel business. Roughly 20 years ago, he retired from Nucor Steel, and enjoyed spending time with family, working out at the YMCA, researching his Norwegian heritage, and sitting on his back porch.
The family wants to thank his brothers, Dennis and Tommy, for frequent visits, as he cherished their times together. We also thank Moneshia Wilson for being his loving caregiver for the last few years. Her dependability and kindness made it easier for Marion to accept help. We also thank dad’s long-time neighbors, Terry and Darryl McFarland, for their friendship and support.
