Margie Elaine Melvin

Margie “Elaine” Melvin age 77, went to be with the Lord and her Wayne on May 19, 2026. She was born on June 19, 1948, in Foley, Alabama.

She graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1966. Over her life she worked many jobs to support her family which included being a co-owner of Melvin Dental Studios. She was a security guard at the Nuclear Power Plant in Homestead Florida. She was an accountant at Long’s Electronics. Her last and favorite job was at Cropwell Baptist Church where she retired. After retirement, she also volunteered at Lakeside Hospice.

She was a faithful member of Cropwell Baptist Church where she was a part of the Choir as well as the Handbell Choir.

She is survived by her two brothers, Eddie Nichols Jr. “Bubba” and Bill (Lisa) Nichols; sister, Penny Nichols; daughter, Tina (David) Lucas; and grandchildren, Dylan (Sarah), Alex, Daniel, and Ashleigh.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Melvin; father, Eddie Nichols; mother, Kathleen Nichols; brother, Lynn Nichols; and sister, Nancy Nichols.
