Born in Honduras, Manuel was the eldest of 10 siblings. His formal education was limited, as he needed to help provide for his family from a young age. He learned the trade of ornamental ironwork and welding from his stepfather, mastering skills that would shape his future.
Driven by the desire to provide a better life for his daughter, Manuel embarked on a journey with the World Renaissance cruise line, which took him from the Caribbean to Alaska, Europe, the Mediterranean, and countless destinations in between. It was during this voyage that he met his former wife, with whom he had two sons.
Manuel's exceptional talent in ornamental ironwork eventually brought him to the United States. His remarkable craftsmanship can be admired at the Epcot Center, the Birmingham Zoo, and in numerous beautiful homes throughout Birmingham and the surrounding areas.
Manuel was a man of many passions. He loved the river, cherished blues music and was a stoic in his own right. Always devoted to his family, Manuel would go above and beyond to help those he loved. His culinary creations were seasoned with love, making every meal special.
In his retirement, Manuel found joy in working in his yard and tinkering in his garage. His life was a testament to hard work, dedication, and love for his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him
