M. L. Kendrick

Funeral Services for Mr. M.L. Kendrick, age 96 of Alabaster, will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with his family and friends officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining gardens.

M.L. Kendrick, age 96, of Alabaster passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 peacefully at home with his wife Barbara (Babs) by his side. He was born on June 14, 1929 in Chelsea, Alabama. He was the eldest of eight children and was loved and admired by all of his siblings. M.L. was also considered the Patriarch of not only his family but also Babs’ family for many years.

M.L. graduated from Springville High School in 1947. After graduation, his first and only place of employment was the First National Bank of Birmingham (now Regions Bank). He started as a bank teller and retired as a Senior Vice President! He was known as a problem solver, and was instrumental in establishing the first use of ATM’s in the Birmingham area. M.L. loved golf, but (according to his friends) was not as proficient at it as he was at cooking, painting, and gardening. M.L. was genuinely loved and will be very much missed, but will always be remembered as an indulgent and loving husband to Babs.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Barbara (Bobo); one sister, Joyce Jones of Springville; one brother, Ronald Kendrick of Oneonta; and many nieces and nephews on both sides of his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Addie and Alvis Kendrick and five brothers: F.D., Boyd, Glenn, Hoyt, and Gordon Kendrick.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 from 11:00 A.M. until service time at 12:00 P.M. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home.
