Dr. Louis Lee Poe passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, just two months after the passing of his beloved wife of 62 years, Linda. Though their time apart was brief, their love and devotion to one another will live on in the hearts of all who knew them.
Born on June 12, 1938, to Edgar and Sara Poe, Louis grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, along side his older brother Edgar. He graduated from Woodlawn High School and then attended Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport, Iowa, where he earned his degree and began a long and meaningful career as a chiropractor. For more than 50 years, Dr. Poe served his patients with skill, compassion, and genuine care—touching countless lives through his work and kindness.
Louis was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather. He was an active member of Lakeside Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. He was also a veteran serving in the Alabama Air National Guard.
He is survived by his children, Lee Poe (Marie) and Kim Harmon (Heath); his cherished grandchildren, Charlie and Anna Harmon; and his beloved step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, Chris Wallace (Brittney) and their children, Grey, Emma, and Noah. Glenn Wallace (Ashley) and their children, RJ and Sawyer.
Dr. Poe will be remembered for his patient, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy of kindness, integrity, and devotion will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville, Alabama. Visitation will begin at 1:00 and the service will be at 2:00.
