Louis Mcchesney

d. August 6, 2008

McChesney, Louis Herman was born on February 13, 1925 in Whapton, North Dakota and died on August 6, 2008 in Birmingham, Alabama at age 83, after struggling with several deteriorating medical problems. He is survived by his four children Jim McChesney (Rose) of Huffman, AL, Calvin McChesney (Sharon) of Trussville, AL, Morgan McChesney (Jane) of Morgan Hill, CA, and Jayne Ivy (Al Lyons) of Chelsea, AL, 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and his only sister, Lorraine Norton of Tucson, AZ. He spoke proudly of the time he spent in the United States Navy, and always enjoyed telling anyone who would listen about his Navy life. He served our country during WWII from February 10, 1943 until March 2, 1946 as a signalman aboard the U.S.S. St. Louis, the Lucky Lou. Graveside service was held at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville, August 7, 2008, with Fred McClure, minister of Christ's Church at Birmingham, speaking to family and friends. His family is thanking God for the gift of eternal life with Him to those who are His children. They are also grateful to family and friends who kept Louis in their prayers.
