Linda Jo, known to many as Mom, Granny, or Aunt Linda, was the beloved matriarch of her wonderfully loud, opinionated, and fiercely loving family. She passed away surrounded by the very people who inherited her legendary stubborn streak.
Born the oldest of seven children, Linda naturally and sometimes bossily stepped into the role of second‑in‑command to her mother. Strong‑willed? Absolutely. Fiercely independent? Without question. Endlessly devoted? Always.
To her siblings, she wasn’t just a sister, she was their built‑in second mother, whether they asked for one or not. She helped raise them, protect them, challenge them, and love them with a determination only an oldest child can truly master. And while disagreements were bound to happen in a family that large (and that spirited), she always found her way back to them with a full heart and a few opinions still left to share.
Her greatest joy, though, was her family. Anyone who heard her talk about her daughter, grandchildren, or great‑grandchildren could practically feel the love radiating from her. The pride in her voice was unmistakable.
Her compassion extended far beyond people. If an animal so much as glanced in her direction, it had a home. Dogs, cats, goats, rabbits, chickens, you name it, she loved it. If zoning laws and common sense hadn’t stood in her way, she would have happily transformed her backyard into a full‑scale farm. Every stray within a 10‑mile radius knew exactly whose porch to wander onto.
Strong, loving, and stubborn in all the best possible ways, Linda Jo lived with a determination that made her unforgettable. She welcomed everyone, family, friends, and furry wanderers into her world with unwavering loyalty.
She leaves behind a family who will forever carry her stories, her lessons, her humor, and her love. Her presence will be felt in the laughter she inspired, the memories she created, and the unapologetic spirit she passed down to those who loved her most.
Her legacy isn’t just remembered it’s lived every day by the people she shaped with her heart, her grit, and her boundless love.
