Leo “Glenn” Thompson, 87, passed away Monday, July 20, 2026.

Glenn was born the youngest of two children to Marvin and Leona Thompson in Birmingham, Alabama on August 6, 1938. In his early life he worked for State Farm, as well as being a Methodist minister. Working in several areas throughout his life, he found Olan Mills to be his best and last job. He was the national sales trainer for the church division, where he trained others to sell church directories.

Glenn married the love of his life, Patty Ann Horton, in 1958. In 1959, they welcomed their first child Kelly and 4 years later they welcomed their second child Brian. He raised his family to love the Lord as much as he did.

Through the years Glenn enjoyed playing golf and cooking. He and Patty were active members at Center Point United Methodist and Trussville United Methodist, where they both enjoyed teaching and singing in the choir.

Glenn was preceded in death by his mother, Leona, his father Marvin, his brother Marvin Jr, and his beloved wife Patty Ann.

Glenn is survived by his daughter Kelly, his son Brian (Tracy), his grandchildren Daniel (Jessica) Contorno and Emily (Reid) Bowen, his great grandchildren Hayes, Hattie, and Parker.
