Lena Crouch

Lena Marie Wells Crouch, age 92, of Birmingham, passed away on May 17, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lee Crouch, Jr.; mother Mary Cristine Heck Wells; father, Samuel P. Wells; guardians, Harry Hood and Bess Martin Hood; brothers, Joseph S. Wells, Robert Wells, Raymond J. Wells, Charles S. Wells, William Ernest Wells and Samuel H. Wells; life-long friends, Jean Dunlap Preston, Jean Underwood Kloess and Julia Gardner Wickwire.

Lena is survived by her daughters, Jenny (Joe) Crouch Walker and Cindy (Jay) Crouch Jackson; grandchildren, Kara (Ryan) Jackson Lancaster, Timothy (Shana) Jackson and Brooke (John) Jackson MacTaggart; great grandchildren, Anya Lancaster, Ian Lancaster, Elaina Lancaster, Evangeline Jackson, Declan Jackson, Everly MacTaggart, Elijah MacTaggart and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Crouch was a lifelong Birmingham resident. She attended Woodlawn High School and attended Howard College where she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. She also attended Samford University. Mrs. Crouch loved children and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School at Ruhama for many years. Lena was a member of Ruhama Baptist Church and Huffman Baptist Church. One of her passions was her strong faith and being a lifelong member and volunteer worker for Ruhama Baptist Church and the Ruhama Family.
