Kitty Brent

Kitty Brent (Burnett), age 71, of Birmingham, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, in the presence of family.

Born, Mary Kathryn Burnett on March 22, 1954. She graduated from Banks High School Class of 1972. Kitty worked 45 years in Banking. A devoted mother and wife, known for her loving nature and endless smile, loved to travel and visit with friends, and often spent her time volunteering with groups in her community. She was a longtime active member of the Eastern Women’s Committee of Fifty.

Kitty is survived by her husband, Sandy; son, Adam; sister, Nita Darden (David); niece, Tina; great-niece, Bentley; nephew, Mike Brent (Shannon); great-nephew, Dylan; as well as many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her father, George F. Burnett; and mother, Mary Elizabeth Cox.

A celebration of life is to be held Tuesday, January 6th, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Trussville First Baptist Chapel, followed by a private family entombment ceremony.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Kitty’s memory to a charity of your choice supporting community volunteer efforts.
